House Intervention
For this assignment, our group of six was tasked with analyzing and researching a particular building, preferably a double-story semi-detached or corner lot. Our research involved a detailed analysis of factors such as sunpath, windpath, and other environmental factors. Based on our findings, we identified specific spaces within the building that had lighting and ventilation issues. Our next task was to develop an intervention plan to address these issues and improve the building's current situation.
Here's the showcase of our work :)
Progress
Choosing houses and selection of spaces
Our assignment required us to research and analyze a specific type of house, with a double-storey semi-detached or corner lot being the most ideal. After careful consideration from each member of the group, we decided to focus on my house, located in Eco Majestic, Semenyih. We then identified spaces within the house that had a dominant effect on lighting and ventilation, which we would explore further as part of our analysis and intervention plan.

Delegating task
Our group was divided into teams responsible for various tasks, including research, design layout, and 3D modeling. I was part of the research team, which conducted a site visit to gather important data such as lux readings, temperature, and humidity measurements for the proposed spaces we were analyzing. We are also in charge of recording down all measurements into our group's Google Docs for easier reference later on.
Intervention
Our 3D modelling team are involved in contributing the idea of interventions as well as modelling their ideas digitally through Sketchup and Enscape. All ideas proposed by team members are considered carefully to obtain the best possible outcome.
Design & Layout
While data collection and modelling out out team's intervention plans, the design layout team have been designing the Canva presentation board so that it is visually pleasing and information can be seen clearly.
Reflection
As part of a group assignment that involved working with junior team members, I initially felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. However, the experience turned out to be a positive and enjoyable one as we were able to learn from one another. While there were some members who were less active at times, we made a concerted effort to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure that tasks were distributed fairly among the group.
Effective communication is essential in team assignments, and this project was no exception. As a team, we recognized the importance of clear and consistent communication to ensure that everyone was aware of our progress and direction. We made a conscious effort to establish open channels of communication and to check in with each other regularly to ensure that everyone was on the same page. By doing so, we were able to work together more efficiently and achieve our goals effectively.
