Progress
Sketches
I first sketch out my ideas for my model, then developed it into my tattoo stamps to create better understandings and interpretation. (working backwards)
Inspirations
While seeking for ideas for my model and tattoo stamps, I wanted to seek for inspiration. Not only online (Pinterest, google etc), I also seek inspirations from the surroundings and nature, such as the patterns of the leaves, weaving of my rattan chair etc.
Tutorials
I have also searched for tutorials and techniques of model making to improve my skills and workmanship as I create my model.
Mock Ups
I did a few mockups to compare which design best showcase my understanding of design elements and principles. Later on, once I have decided on a design, I will then develop and modify it to my final model.
Reflection
From this assignment, I have learnt to understand and apply the design elements and principles in my model and tattoo stamp appropriately. Not only that, I have also acquired the knowledge of translating my tattoo stamps in to a model.
As this was the first assignment, we will have to learn to be independent and not being spoon-fed like we were in foundation. I have learnt to research and watch tutorial videos to enhance my understandings and application of design elements and principles on my own. ( self- directed learning)
To create a better design for my tattoo stamps, I have searched for famous architect's models and drawings online. For instance, Zaha Hadid, Frank Ghery, Peter Eisenman, etc. I analyzed and attempted on identifying on what makes the design unique and how/ what method they use to create such models. Later on, I then applied the knowledge on my design.
