- Dateline : Week 9 ( Friday 22/10 )
Progress
First, I started off by taking multiples perspective and views of my master bedroom. Meanwhile, I also started on my title blocks.
As per usual, I like to plan out my timing on each assignment. I listed all the tasks that I needed to complete and distributed my workload. So, what I planned to do was to first start off with taking pictures, title blocks as well as learning about tools on tutorials so I can start off with my floor plan on the first 2 weeks.
This was one of the videos where I learnt how to use my tools, specifically scale rulers.
By using the limited knowledge I have, I decided to give it a try with scale ruler and draw out my bedroom floor plan
I then proceeded to upload my work on miro board and get feedbacks from Mr Akmal for amendments. From here I have learnt so many additional new knowledge : gridlines, level drop, brick wall hatching, conventional symbols (door, windows, sliding doors, wardrobe, water closet, etc.) ....
Reflection
I have learnt how to use the tools appropriately, acquired the skills to identify furnitures and conventional symbols through different floor plans. Besides, being able to identify , I am now capable to produce proper technical drawings : floor plan, elevation views , section views and details of a room.
From the feedbacks and constructive criticisms I have received from my lecturers and friends, I learnt to explore more and search on more tutorials if I have any enquiries. I am pleased to know that this assignment has helped me not only on my skills of technical drawings, it has also taught ways to learn more effectively - by researches of my own.
The second assignment has obviously heavier workload as compared to the first. Nevertheless, planning and scheduling on my work helps me a lot in order to get this work done, leaving sufficient amount of time to do final touch ups. I may not have much knowledge or guidance on this path of my dreams. I have learnt to gain such knowledge through online tutorials, guidance from a senior and lecturers...
